Forming the Entity - Entrepreneurship Practicum

The University of Miami School of Business Administration Entrepreneur in Residence Eric Kriss will host a weekly practicum series about starting a new venture over the course of the Spring semester. The practicum will focus on issues such as forming the entity, developing an ownership structure, making a web presence, and various other critical topics.

In “Forming the Entity,” Eric will discuss the pros and cons of various legal forms for one’s new venture from an entrepreneur’s perspective, as well as several other important considerations. Topics will include:

1. Sole proprietorship
2. General partnership
3. Limited partnership (LP)
4. Limited liability partnership (LLP)
5. Limited liability company (LLC)
6. S corporation (pass-through)
7. C corporation
8. Tax-exempt organizations (501c3)
9. Domicile
10. Licenses & permits

The practicum is free and open to the public. RSVP not required.
