Clothing Company Research...
As the owner of a clothing company, I am trying to move forward with the ideas I've come up with for the last 4 years. I have an angel investor but I want to prove to him there's a market for my product. Currently I'm in the process of building a website and I have 120 units stored away in my room. Should I be researching secondary data while trying to sell the product when I'm only a one-man business? Any advice?

Stop sitting around
Let me get this straight. You've been developing this idea for four years, you've already got the product, you have an angel with money, and you want to do research!!!
My best advice is to take the product you have to as many buyers and trade shows as you can and get their reaction. Get some orders as well if you can. Also look for some web sites of local designers and on-line communities. I'm pretty sure I've stumbled across some at one time or another. Just be creative on the web and you will find something. Since fashion industry items tend to be unique, secondary research is not going to be as effective as judging people's reactions first hand.
Without knowing some other factors, such as type of product, what you want your angel's money for, etc. you are only going to get a generic response and general answers. Come into the Launch Pad, present your idea, and see if you are enough along to warrant some coaching. I'm one of the venture coaches and if you really want to take this somewhere a team of us can probably help you.
