Students of Color Symposium 2023

The University of Miami Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) and the Students of Color Symposium (SOCS) Committee cordially invite you to the 6th Annual Students of Color Symposium on Saturday, February 4, 2023.  This year’s theme,“I Choose Me: Mental Health Is Mental Wealth” invites students, faculty, and staff to participate in workshops, facilitated conversations, and networking opportunities that destigmatize mental health and promote emotional and physical well-being.

Students of Color Symposium 2023 | Overview

Our guest speaker this year is Alex Elle, an NYT bestselling author, certified breathwork coach, and restorative writing teacher. The intention behind Alex’s work is to build community and healing practices through literature and language. Key perks from SOCS this year will be massage chairs, aromatherapy, guided meditation, and more! The goal of SOCS is to empower students, faculty, and staff to take an active role in taking charge of their mental health and well-being and to provide tangible resources and strategies to navigate mental health disparities within diverse communities.
