UM USVI ReVIve competition

Coral Gables, FL – January 3, 2018. The University of Miami in partnership with the Prior Family Foundation is pleased to announce the 2018 ReVIve – USVI Impact Competition. ReVIve aims to spur innovation in the US Virgin Islands through entrepreneurship and ingenuity. This contest will be awarding cash and prizes to individuals from around the world who create innovative ways to spur the local economy of the US Virgin Islands.
Much of the islands’ infrastructure and the economy suffered extensive damage from the effects of Hurricanes Irma and Maria this past Hurricane season. This devastation has led the Prior Family Foundation to partner with the University of Miami to launch the first global economic impact contest in the Caribbean.
The Prior Family Foundation is leading the way in supporting this initiative by donating the first cash prizes of over $20,000. Additional prizes will be announced in the first quarter of 2018.
The ReVIve competition will be accepting submissions in the form of a 2-page executive summary, a 10-page business plan and a 2-minute video pitch beginning January 15, 2018. Applicant’s concepts should leverage the local resources and infrastructure of the USVI in a manner that ultimately creates local jobs and improves the local quality of life. This competition is open to all industries and verticals legally allowed to do business in the USVI.
The ReVIve competition will be accepting submissions between January 15, 2018, and March 26, 2018. Finalists will be announced April 2, 2018.
