Hack Your Career: Free Workshops to Help You Get Into Tech

Ironhack Miami presents Hack Your Career, an event to help you with your first steps in the tech industry. Find the best way to re-start your career, make your first project as a developer or UX/UI designer and learn from the experience of Ironhack alumni in this free event.
6:00PM – Start Your Tech Career Workshop
Start your career in tech – even if you come from a completely different background. In this practical workshop, Antonio Mañueco, Co-founder of Wynwood Tech and Lead Software Engineer at Blue Beta, will tell you about how to get your launch in Miami tech and what local companies look for in junior hires.
7:00PM – Intro to JavaScript and UX/UI Design (English)
Choose between TWO workshops and learn the basics of JavaScript or UX/UI Design in a hands-on session led by two Ironhack instructors. We strongly recommend that you bring your own laptop to make the most of the workshops.
Intro to JavaScript
Coding is becoming the most in-demand skill across industries. We believe in learning by doing so this workshop will consist in a crash course in JavaScript and a practical exercise. You’ll be surprised at how quickly you learn to write your first lines of code!
Intro to UX/UI Design
Our interaction with digital screens has increased exponentially over the past decade. Apps have become a daily part of people’s lives and they all have UX/UI Design at the core of the development process. In this workshop you will learn the basics of UX/UI Design and make your first project.
8:00PM – Ironhack Alumni Q&A
Learn about the Ironhack experience from those who have lived it. In this Q&A, you’ll get a chance to ask all your questions to ex-Ironhack Students., including Sebastain Vega (Jr. Full-Stack Web Developer at World Media Interactive) and JImena Quan (Digital Product Manager at Visa, and UX/UI Design Consultant).
The evening will end with music and an opportunity to network.
