There are no obligations or expectations, and all services are free of charge.

How do I get started?
We’re glad you’re interested in working with us! To get started, please visit our website and click the “Sign Up” button. After making your account, tell us about your idea, and then request your first meeting. We’ll pair you with a Venture Consultant that can help you with your venture. See you soon!
Who will I meet?
You’ll be meeting with one of our Venture Consultants who will be able to guide you through your questions/concerns. To find out more about our consultants visit our about the team page.
What kinds of resources do you provide?
We provide assistance with almost all things idea/business related. Whether you need help with a business model canvas, pitching your business, or setting up financials we can help. Check out our resources page for more details. Unfortunately, we do not offer funding or legal advice, but there are many great resources on campus for that.
Does The Launch Pad / UM own any of my business?
The Launch Pad is here strictly for consulting. To learn more about if the University has any interest in your idea please refer to Tech Transfer.
All of our Venture Consultants and Staff have signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with the University of Miami and are legally bound to keep conversations confidential.
Can you give legal help?
The Launch Pad is not able to give legal advice. However, we will gladly refer you to other legal services that can be of assistance and any other useful resources.
Do you fund my startup?
The Launch Pad does not provide any funding. The University of Miami Canes Angel Network is currently in the process of navigating opportunities for clients. More info will be shared soon.
Is The Launch Pad associated with the Business School?
The Launch Pad is not a part of the Business School, we work with every department and college in the University. The Launch Pad is a part of UInnovation.
Where can I find funding/investments?
Raising capital can come in different forms whether it’s from an angel investor, venture capitalist, crowd-funding, or simply friends and family. We can discuss options in our meetings or visit our resources page to learn about investment opportunities.
Do I need a business plan?
Not to meet with us! All we ask is you have an idea.
How much progress do I need to have so I can meet with a consultant again?
Any progress is progress! Feel free to request a meeting to discuss your developments good or bad!
Does The Launch Pad have office hours?
We do not offer drop-in office hours, all of your meetings must be scheduled through our website. Our office is open 9-4pm M-F year round.
How much is it to work with The Launch Pad?
Our services are FREE to the University of Miami students, alumni, faculty, and staff!
What kinds of events do you have?
Our events range from skill-building workshops, to lecture series, to competitions, and more. Check out our events calendar or signup for our newsletter to stay up to date with all the things going on in our office.
