Spring Break Game Design Camp

Gaming over the years has become a big part of our culture. Play is an integral step in growing up for children by allowing them to explore and test the virtual worlds they play in. We believe that understanding how something is built and then creating your own version leads to non standard learning and socialization. Becoming an active designer in the creation of games is a window into how to organize complex systems. This spring camp, we will introduce, analyze and launch very simple games that talk about the thought process and skills necessary to design a game. At the end of the week, the student will have been introduced to many different types of games, will analyze and understand how those games were made,  will design and document an ordinary game, will create the music/art/logic and finally test out their game…
